ReplyDeleteThese people are disgusting. I want to a speech by Jennifer Baumgardner, one of these new "feminists" and she was absolutely infuriating. She was basically like, hey girls stop being intimidated by those mean nasty feminists. I know they say you can't be a feminist for bowing to the patriarchy, but guess what. If you fully embrace the patriarchy, you'll be much happier. And happy people are real feminists, not those sad old spinsters with their million cats. When I asked her about a "divisive" issue, she got angry with me and told me basically that second wavers are overly-simplistic and wrong.
ReplyDeleteIt comes down to this, if feminism means whatever makes a person sexy and happy looking, it's not a movement. A movement has to stand for something, and making individual women feel sexy is not it. I have a similar post to this on my blog as well, and got an interesting response from one of the original second-wavers.

ReplyDeleteOh my god, i have never heard of this woman, but i have heard this type of rhetoric from "fun feminists". I mean, how lazy and uncaring do you have to be to believe that our empowerment lies in how many boners we can give a dude? It's mind-boggling.
