So, here are some more horrifying search terms - they have been getting progressively worse with time...
"forced to have sex" searched 3 times in one day
"tight female assholes" searched 2 times in one day
"black pins in tight vagiana" [sic] searched 2 times in one week
"14yars sex garils" [sic] searched 2 times in one week (clearly by the same person)
"fucking hardcore porn baby" searched 2 times in one day
"girls forced to have sex" searched once today but has shown up several times in the last few weeks
"girls forced to have sex with other girls"
As a way to end this "post," here's a graphic made by a feminist prostitution-abolition group from here
This poster is important as it brings up the issue of men's choices.
Since so many feminists are divided on women's "choices" in prostitution,
I think it is vital in that it society asks "why" men make the choice to buy women and how
their demand is central to the exploitation of women and girls worldwide.
Enjoy your Tuesday!

The problem with most arguments made for or against prostitution is that both sides try to turn it into a black and white issue. What gets lost in the arguments is the reality of the situation. As it stands right now prostitution is illegal in many ways in the country I live in, both for prostitutes and the people who solicit prostitution yet it still happens. Regardless of how anyone feels about the actual act of prostitution I would think that most rationally minded people would agree that any measure that would reduce violence against prostitutes should be explored. I feel the forces that keep us from exploring these options generally come from the white heteronormative religious population that chooses to view these women as criminals rather than victims of a system that disregards their rights because of a moral viewpoint that reduces them to being objects of sale, thus dubbing them "prostitutes" rather than individuals. The issue here is that we can not create laws that will stop prostitution, we already have them and they have only worsened the situations for people that live that life. What is important now is that we realize that it is happening and we work towards a future where being a prostitute does not automatically mean that your life is in danger. We could try and petition these so called "Men" to stop doing what they're doing, but the truth of the matter is that these same people who are buying and selling women like property are not the same people making the laws. In essence the whole issue is a many faceted ordeal that cannot have a blanket statemnet. If it were as easy as outlawing prostitution it wouldn't exist, so we need to explore all the options available to ensure that women are kept safe regardless how we feel about the situation that they are in.
ReplyDeleteGag Fodder,
ReplyDeleteAre you familiar with what's called the Swedish (or Nordic) model? I don't think there's any way the law can stop men from abusing women, and there are so many women that desperately need money. However, this seems to be the most promising *legal* approach.
boner killing, it's disgusting what people (men) search for. really, really is. Actually, it's not so much disgusting as in MADDENING! I feel like when people tell us not to get the law involved on pornstitution, they are essentially telling us to do nothing. I say this not because I'm a fan of the law or pro-cop, but because I don't hear these same complaints voiced about say, laws against murder, which are prosecuted in an unjust way.
Thank you for the reply Womononajourney. Your post is welcomed with a smile and sigh of relief! I just wasn't up for repeating myself for the zillionth time on the prostitution legality debate.
ReplyDeleteOh, and your your comment is spot on!
I hear ya on not having the energy to respond to all comments on your blog. It can get overwhelming at times, especially with people who are there to be argumentative.
ReplyDeleteWe don’t question men’s choices and their right to use and abuse women and girls at their leisure because we are living in a male dominated world and it is the males that determine what is right and wrong irrespective of who gets hurt in the process. And we do not have the right (according to male supremacy) to question such absolute choices that only men can make.
ReplyDeleteI think we have so many discussions about women’s choices such as the subject of prostituting because we don’t call the shots so we are either trying to figure out how we should fit into this male dominated world or how we should oppose it.
As women we need to collectively make the choice to take on male supremacy and become more unified despite our very diverse views. We need to do this in order to stand up and destroy male supremacy. If we can’t stand together we are not going to achieve anything.
Just as an observation, most of the men who buy sex are not as handsome as the man in this ad. It kind of feeds into the idea that a woman can enjoy sex for money if the man looks like this.
ReplyDeleteyes, the cartoon character with the facial expression on repeat is "handsome"
