How to Tell if Someone is a Chauvinist Pig:
1)Talking about women in strictly sexual ways, "She's HOT" or "I'd like to tap that ass!"
2) Pornoragraphy use. Usually if someone watches porn, they're okay with objectifying people and getting off on it. Pornography is usually a tool in chauvinist piggery.
3) Checking out women's bodies as they walk by. We all know someone who does this, you are sitting enjoying some coffee and the dude (or woman, usually dude) turns his head to stare at the woman who walked by, usually her ass. When you say "Hey, don't objectify" they say "I'm admiring her beauty"
4) They find dood-bro stuff funny, like Seth Rogan movies and websites about stupid dudes 'mansplations' and 'manswers'
5) They attempt to use biology or psychology to back up their ideas about gender differences.
6) They read maxim magazines 'for the articles'
7) Sleeping around with different women is normal with chauvinist pigs, if they play a good enough act of 'the nice guy', this is a sexual conquest for them. If a woman does it, the chauvinist pig calls her a whore or a slut.
8) Strip Clubs, if they have been to one and use the "It was my 18th birthday!" excuse, it still stands as chauvinist piggery.
9) Belief that vagina = fuckhole (term stolen from Femonade, credit where credit is due)
10) Love of sexy pop culture, rap videos and sexist adverts are chauvinist pig's media treats.
11) Lack of feminist awareness
12) Possibly a full on hatred of feminists
13) Sometimes incredibly homophobic, but not when it comes to 'hot lesbian sex', chauvinist pigs usually are disgusted by homosexuality unless it fulfills some hetero-normative fantasy for them
14) Saying things like "It's a guy thing"
15) Being Bill Maher, or thinking Bill Maher is a valuable individual with good ideas.
How to spot a dudebro, or as i like to spell it, DOODBRO
Definition: Incredibly macho and obnoxious males who attempt to push masculinity into every part of their lives. They tend to talk in "bros" and "dudes", hence the names. These guys usually are homophobic and according to urban dictionary, like awful radio rock or "tough" music. They tend to talk about women in the worst of ways and always want to "get laid". I'm sure you get the picture!
BUT, how do you know if he's a dude bro? Also, WHAT IS WRONG BEING A DUDE BRO? well, dude bro-ness embraces rape culture and promotes harmful masculinity. Yes...that's why us feminists refer to certain dudes as "dood bros"
Clues he's a doodbro (some of these are from my own experiences with doodbros, watching them in film and from urban dictionary definitions):
1) He drinks a lot of booze and hits on women constantly
2) He wears brand name clothes and tries to show off his manly muscles
3) He parties with other dood bros and refers to them as "Bro!" or "Duuude!"
4) When he gets drunk he makes a total asshole of himself in public to look tough
5) He gets into bar fights
6) He uses language for women like "Bitch" and "Hotties"
7) He watches UFC and other violent, unintelligible crap television shows
8) Utters words "BOOYAH!" or "FUCK YA!" and likes to thrown random dood bro slang into every sentence
9) Watches porn
10) Attempts to grind dance with women at clubs
11) Acts like no one possibly could understand him and his male dood bro friend's awesome friendships
12) Has a shitty tribal tattoo and refers to it as "tat"
13) Thinks the purpose of a woman's existence is to give them blow jobs
14) Watches Seth Rogen movies about how stupid and slutty women are and laughs super hard
15) Drives a shitty car and spends more money on bling for the car than the car itself
16) Is nearly always white privileged and heterosexual.
