San Davage...Dan Savage...eff OFF.

This is more or less a rant. So, enjoy!

I really REALLY dislike Dan Savage's "advice" column. Most of you have probably heard of him...he's a "sex expert" type dude, like Violet Blue but in dude form. The people who pretend to be the lords of sex and write columns about how to please your ____ (fill in the blank)

This dude just annoys me because people think since he's gay, he can't be misogynistic with his advice. A local newspaper in my city, which i love, has him at the end giving sex advice to women. I read them sometimes, but i usually puke in my mouth.

Why?

Well, he likes to encourage sadomasochism, porn culture and general malestream oppression which is woman hating propaganda with a "cool" sticker on it. Gross.

Anyway, what brought him to my attention today was the fact that feministing.com mentioned him. Who is surprised? Feministing is all about fun tymezzz and white priv. empowerment zomg!

I guess I should provide those of you who don't know who this dude is with a little info. Dan Savage is a libertarian. Yes, a libertarian. I Luvz teh capitalizm when it benefits meh!

Ugh. Enough said? No...maybe not.

He's a gay rights activist, that's good and necessary...
But libertarianism isn't really going to help free anyone from any oppression since it works WITH oppressive institutions, on a fucked up economic scale.

Also, i'm pretty much against any dude who supports the pornification of our culture, which contributes to rape culture on a massive scale. So what's my big beef? Well, most pro-exploitation dudes grind my gears. Savage really is quite popular, so obviously his pro-porn, pro-exploitation stance makes it rounds with young women. That pisses me off. Liberal dudes ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS spout liberal dude suck my dick rhetoric to the masses of young women, normalizing phallocentric bullshit.

This is harming women. It may be indirect, but it's still harm. These dudes work closely with the sex industry, as do women like Violet Blue. They help promote the woman hating propaganda, they attempt to justify it and make it totally hip and cool. I mean, if you don't watch pornos with your boyfriend to make him happy, then what kind of woman are you?

Oh, a feminist. that's right.

But it's hard to stand up against the sexual tortures women endure when popular libertarian dudes go off spouting how goddamn cool it is. It makes me fucking sad because there's NEVER an opposition. It's because the media censors radical feminists or anyone who speaks out against capitalist exploitation. Think Dworkin, Craft, Jensen etc...You never see them with fucking advice columns. The libertarian assholes call us "puritans" or "anti-sex" instead of "radical feminists or "egalitarian sex seekers"

Ever since hearing you say on your podcast that all men use porn, I have had a burning question: What about us women? If all men get a pass to have this whole other sex life, which is (mostly) external to their partnerships and is sexually satisfying, then all women should have a pass as well. Ideally, it would be a pass to enjoy something universally arousing to all women, something that would sexually satisfy us, but it wouldn't be something that turns most men on, perhaps it might even repulse them. If there were something that met my criteria, I wonder how it would play out in our relationships? Also, I am not sure what it could be, as women are a little bit more complicated.
