Feministing Considers Prison Dude's "Right" to Pornography

Oh, Feministing.com! you have failed to speak for feminists yet again.

However, my birthday is tomorrow and I do not feel like dealing with the faux-feminist bullshit tonight so I will leave you all with a recent post written by a feminist-identified woman asking her readers should dudes have a right to porn in prison?

Before I lunge headfirst into birthday weekend mode, I have to ask: When did men's access to pornography in prison become a feminist issue? When did this involve women's liberation? 

Feministing has proven again to be blatantly anti-woman and clearly counter to feminism and feminist objectives. The blog is more concerned with post-modern queer theory, male-identified groups and middle class white issues. Feministing focuses on personal, individual opinions and experiences without providing critical analyses on how those experiences affect women as a class. The website is strongly heterosexual, white male-identified and fails to recognize women's struggles on a global and societal level.

Have you ever noticed how feministing.com's articles are 90% of the time regarding gay white dudes, gay white dudes getting married, trans folks, trans activism and various other non-female issues? Seriously. All that they seem to discuss are issues that are related to Western queer spaces and Western queer men, like rape apologist Dan Savage. They rarely include lesbians, in fact they hardly ever mention lesbians let alone lesbian feminists...

Yet this site claims to speak for all young feminists? Yeah, maybe some privileged white Western feminists, but certainly not all young feminists. Also, why not old feminists? This blog seeks to deconstruct nothing, challenge nothing and ultimately get fuck all done in the way of women's liberation. It does not care about women, at least most women. It mainly focuses on class-privileged women and their relation to queer white men. Time for a pseudo-revolution, but be careful not to hurt teh menz feelings!
